Two members of Sigma FC's B2 squad have been invited for an extended training period with Belgium's Club Brugge beginning next week.

Cyle Larin and Chris Nanco, both of Brampton, Ont. will be training under the watchful eye of Club Brugge's youth academy staff and club Technical Director, Henk Mariman.

Mariman, who up until this year was the club's youth director, has tracked the development of the players over the past three years in his capacity as co-director of the Sigma International ID Camp held annually in Mississauga. Last summer he worked closely with the 1995-born group that included Larin and Nanco.

Club Brugge is one of the most storied clubs in Belgium and has made its name in European club competition, reaching two European finals and two European semi-finals. Club Brugge is the only Belgian club to have played the final of the European Cup (forerunner of the current UEFA Champions League), losing in the 1978 final to Liverpool.

This is the first professional training opportunity for Larin, but if he needs any advice on how to prepare he can ask his long time teammate. Nanco trained at Liverpool and Newcastle of the English Premier League last season and was part of the recent Canadian U17 team that qualified for the World Cup to be held this summer in Mexico.
