BERKELEY, Calif. - Sigma's Emery Welshman recorded an assist on the tying goal as the Oregon State men's soccer team came back from a 2-0 deficit against California Bears on Friday. The assist gave Welshman a school-record tying fifth consecutive game with an assist.

On the goal, Welshman worked a give-and-go with teammate Roberto Farfan at the top of the box. OSU coach Steve Simmons told the Corvalis Gazette Times after the game: "Emery has shown that he can bring people into the game, especially other players getting forward, and he's done that with some very good assists" Read the story from the Gazette Times here:

On Sunday, OSU dropped a close 3-2 decision against Stanford.

Welshman is the team's leading scorer and is starting to turn heads on the West Coast, as the Pac-12 web site wrote this nice profile of the Sigma product.

NEWTON, Mass - Junior Kyle Bekker scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the No. 14 Boston College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win against Harvard last Tuesday afternoon at the Newton Campus Field. The goals were Bekker's fifth and sixth of the season.

Later in the week, BC travelled to Clemson, falling 2-0 despite outshooting the Tigers 19-7.

DAYTON, Ohio - Sigma's Ryan Lyn has fought his way into the starting lineup at the University of Dayton and it has coincided with a two game win streak.

Lyn scored his first collegiate goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Richmond Spiders in a game that saw Head Coach Dennis Currier become Dayton's winningest coach.

The Flyers outshot the Richmond Spiders by a 24-14 margin in the contest. Dayton also held the advantage in corner kicks 6-2.

Freshman Lyn tallied his first collegiate goal thanks in part to a tough battle by sophomore Andres Acevedo to feed the ball to him in the goal mouth. Here are his and his coaches post game comments on the win.

STORRS, Conn. - It's never easy facing the top team in the NCAA, but Pitt Panthers gave it a good try, falling 1-0 to the UConn Huskies Saturday at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Sigma's Manny Morgado started for the Panthers, as he has done all season long and continues to put in solid defensive performances in the heart of midfield.

TULSA, Okla. - After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, Drake came all the way back to defeat the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 3-2 behind two goals from freshman Thomas Schermoly. Sigma's Jarrett Hamilton, the Golden Eagles leading scorer (6 goals, 1 assist), was held to two shots on goal.

STATESBORO, Ga. - Appalachian State overcame a one-goal deficit with 10 minutes to play, with a pair of late goals to defeat Southern Conference rival Georgia Southern 2-1 win on Friday evening. The win gave the Mountaineers sole possession of first place in the Southern Conference (3-0). Sigma's Kristian Lee-Him came off the bench for a solid 27 minutes in the game.

BURNABY, BC - After sweeping all three games on their trip to Hawaii last week, the SFU Clan men's soccer team has jumped another spot in the NCAA Division II national men's soccer rankings to second. Fort Lewis College in Colorado is ranked first. Sigma's Lucas Ferritto sits 9th in team scoring with 2 goals and 3 assists on the season.

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Sigma's Jordan Payne scored as Cal State L.A.'s men's soccer team struck for the first three goals and picked up an important California Collegiate Athletic Association road victory Friday over UC San Diego. The Golden Eagles got goals from four different players and beat the Tritons, 4-2, Friday at Triton Soccer Stadium. On Sunday, the Golden Eagles scored late to tie Cal State San Bernadino 2-2.

SAN FRANCISCO - Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer team was shut out twice on the on the road over the weekend falling 3-0 to Cal Poly Pomona and 1-0 to San Francisco State. Sigma's Nolan Holdridge started in the loss to San Francisco.

HERKIMER, NY - The HCCC men's weekend games were cancelled due to soggy fields, leaving one game date remaining in the regular season, and it's a big one. Herkimer will host Genesee CC on Tuesday. Herkimer is undefeated and untied and are currently ranked No.1 in the country by the NJCAA, while Genesee's men are No.5. Jordan Stoddart sits at 14 points on the season to date (5 goals, 4 assists)

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Bulldogs drop to 1-10-1 and 0-6 in conference play after dropping a pair of weekend games. Mount St. Mary's defeated Bryant 3-1 on Sunday, in a game that saw Sigma's Lucas Guerriero have a good chance to draw even after taking a pass inside the box, but his point-blank shot was saved by MSM goaltender Peter Steve.

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's soccer team showed its resolve after two tough overtime losses in a row with a dominant performance in a 1-0 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at Bear Field. Sigma's Greg Ranjitsingh notched his fifth shutout of the season.

TEANECK, N.J. - Quinnipiac men's soccer team fell to Northeast Conference opponent Fairleigh Dickinson, 2-1, at University Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Quinnipiac's first NEC loss of the season drops its record to 3-1 in league play (5-5 overall), while the Knights improve to 4-1 in the NEC and 8-3-2 overall. Sigma's Remere Warner was not listed on the game stats.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Adelphi scored in each half en route to a 2-0 win over Howard. With the win, the Panthers move to 5-6-1, 3-0 ASC. Sigma's Jordan Hibbert did not dress nursing an injury from the previous match versus #3 in the country Maryland.

Brooklyn, N.Y. - Robert Morris suffered a 2-1 setback at Long Island University Sunday afternoon to fall to 4-8-1 overall and 0-6 in Northeast Conference games. Sigma's Shane Beharry came off the bench in the loss.

HAMILTON, Ont. - The McMaster men's soccer team took on the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday night. The two teams tied for the second time in the season, both games ending with no goals scored. With just two regular season games left, McMaster sits in second place in the OUA West two points behind York and two points ahead of Guelph.
