"This is a great situation for Kyle as he is an exceptional player who deserves to be playing in a top program", says SIGMA FC Technical Director Bobby Smyrniotis. "He is definitely a player with the ability to play at the next level and Boston College and the competition in the ACC will be the best place to prepare him for his future"Kyle Bekker joined SIGMA in the summer of 2006 and since has been a leader on and off the field with the club. His abilities on the field have led to trial and long term training periods with AFC Ajax of Amsterdam and interest from a long list of top Division 1 universities who have made the trip to the Toronto area to see Kyle play. At 5'10 Kyle is a crafty attacking midfielder with an unmatched vision for the game and keen goal scoring ability both from distance and in the penalty area. His ability to pick apart defenders with precision passing and long range shooting with both feet is what makes him a special player.
"I am very happy that he has found a great home for the next four years of his life" continues Bobby Smyrniotis. "It is exciting for him and his family and the really the whole family at SIGMA as one of our players will be playing in the top ACC conference. Above all he will be receiving an education from Boston College and broadening his horizons in another North American metropolis which will only serve to assist him in his future as a professional."
