Name: Irvin Mai
Bobby Smyrniotis on Mai:
"Irvin has been one of the most enjoyable players to have in the program since the beginning. A player of high technical ability and precise passing skill, he has been a mainstay in the midfield for our 1994 age bracket over the years. A tireless engine in midfield who links superbly between defence and midfield, he is a player that provides the tempo to a game in a cool confident manner."
"Irvin has made a great choice in choosing Queen's University to further his academic and athletic aspirations. As a great student in the classroom, Queen's will provide him the challenge required in the educational setting. On the field, he will join SIGMA alum, Michael Campea who is entering his sophomore year with the program. I would like to congratulate the whole Mai family for their dedication over the years and their commitment to the game."
In his own words:
"My journey at SIGMA has been rather adventurous. Prior to coming to SIGMA, I always thought soccer was just an extra-curricular activity. However, SIGMA has integrated soccer as a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle. The SIGMA family has matured me both on and off the field, and they have encouraged me to constantly do my best as both an athlete and a person. Leaving SIGMA is a bitter-sweet experience, as I am saddened to be leaving my team, but confident they have prepared me for anything the world throws at me. I will always be a part of the SIGMA family."
