SIGMA FC is pleased to announce that RCD Mallorca Director of Soccer Schools and U13 coach Arno Buitenweg will be returning for the second year in a row as a member of the international coaching team of the 2010 International ID Camps. Mr. Buitenweg's inclusion provides the camp one of the top instructors in Spanish youth football and a coach with a good understanding of what to expect from the camp participants. Mr. Buitenweg is an integral member of RCD Mallorca as the director of soccer schools and clinics for the club. In his capacity he is responsible for organizing and administering training clinics to various regions of Mallorca and the Balearic Islands for Real Mallorca. Along with those responsibilities he is also responsible for heading the U13 squad at the club's academy. His involvement at Real Mallorca does not stop there as this football mind also has a role in the first team with match analysis and opponent scouting.

The relationship between SIGMA FC and Arno Buitenweg goes back to 2006 when SIGMA assembled its first group of players in the 1995 age group to travel to Mallorca and participate in the "Mallorca International Football Invitational Tournament" which hosted clubs such as AFC Ajax, Valencia, Hertha Berlin and Everton, "The ability to have such an individual in Toronto working with SIGMA and our players is fantastic. Arno has been a good friend of SIGMA since 2006 and was instrumental in a way to make SIGMA what it is today. All of us at our academy are excited to have him, especially many of our players who have fond memories of his work on the field with them in the summer of 2009".

Spanish football is currently at the peak of the world game. The national team is the current European champions and consistently in the top 3 of FIFA world rankings, and club teams such as Barcelona marvel fans with their mix of international and home grown stars. This success is widely regarded to be a result of the hard work and dedication of the Spanish clubs to focus on home-grown talent and development of players from the youth academies of clubs. Mallorca is one of the clubs leading the charge over the years. Their emphasis on youth development has provided the club a great deal in financial returns with the sale of many of the stars of the club and this season the club is on the cusp of qualifying for Champions League football an honor usually reserved to Spain's financially dominant clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Athletico Madrid, Villareal). Constantine Smyrniotis who is the Managing Director of SIGMA and SEG North America is well aware of the success of Mallorca and their emphasis in development. "My involvement in the professional side of the sport on a world stage has made one thing very clear, the clubs in Spain are doing a great job in the area of player development. They may be buying a number of foreigners but the clubs with most success have a solid foundation of players developed through their youth academies. RCD Mallorca is testament to this as they have consistently developed a high pedigree of player in their academy who have moved on to the first team and beyond. I am so happy that Arno is a major reason for the success of this club, and even more so happy that he devotes his time to work with the young talents in our camp"!

This summer's SIGMA FC International ID Camp will truly be another great event for the development of the game in Canada and provide a number of talented individuals the opportunity to be instructed by some of the Europe's top educators in the game.
