A look at how Sigma Alumni fared in University play the week ending Sept. 12th:

Simon Fraser: A goal from Sigma FC alumni Lucas Ferritto on Sunday afternoon helped the Simon Fraser University Clan men's soccer team a 2-0 victory over the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the 2010 edition of the Adidas Soccer Express Challenge Cup. The non-conference game marked the 13th time the Clan have beaten UBC, as SFU holds a 13-10-4 all-time lead in the series. Derrick Bassi added the other goal for SFU.

SFU is competing in the NCAA this season in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The game against UBC was a non-conference match that gave the Clan bragging rights in B.C.'s Lower Mainland.

The win was also the eighth time over the past ten years that SFU has defeated UBC. The Clan, now 4-0 on the season, will be back in action on Friday when they host Trinity Lutheran at 3 pm on Terry Fox Field.

Bassi opened the scoring in the 80th minute, before Ferritto iced the contest 87th minute, finishing off a counter attack with a low strike from inside the penalty area.

The Clan's first Great Northwest Athletic Conference game will take place at home on September 23, when SFU hosts Montana State Billings. Although this is the first season for SFU in the NCAA and the GNAC, the Clan are still eligible for NAIA postseason, and are currently ranked No.2 in the NAIA Top-25, their highest ranking since the rankings were created in 1999.

Boston College: Kyle Bekker led the Eagles with five shorts on goal in a 1-1 tie against No.9-ranked Maryland in BC's first ACC league game.

The Eagles, ranked No.5 in the NCAA, narrowly missed a chance to win the game when Bekker, a Sigma FC product, had a great scoring chance in the 94th minute, and again almost set up a teammate in the 95th.

Siena University: Emery Welshman was a last-minute decision to play Sunday for Siena University due to a sore ankle. While the Saints dropped a 2-1 result in double overtime to Colgate, Welshman was not slowed down too much due to his injury. The Sigma FC product had another strong showing scoring the team's only goal and playing for the entire 106 minutes.

Cal State Stanislaus: Noland Holdridge recorded his first assist as Cal State Stanislaus remained undefeated with a 1-1 tie against Cal State Monterey Bay. Stanislaus is now 2-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. The Warriors were coming off a 3-1 win at San Francisco State Friday.

"Our guys battled on the road and played well but one critical mistake in goal allowed Monterey Bay to get off the hook," CSUS head coach Dana Taylor said.

Cal State Stanislaus's goal set up nicely by a pass from Sigma FC alumni Nolan Holdridge to Terry Gross, who crossed it to Victor Regalado at the centre of the goal for a one-timed finish.

Oral Roberts: Jarrett Hamilton scored in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis. It was Hamilton's team leading third goal of the season.
